The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. With sixteen different tours to choose from, and six new Red Coat Guides joining the team, Exeter City Council is celebrating the launch of a busy Summer Tour Programme.

The Council has been providing free Red Coat Guided walking tours of the city for twenty-eight years. To keep up with demand, a training programme for willing volunteers has taken place every couple of years, with this spring seeing the successful recruitment of six new Guides.

The dangers of riding and driving while using hand-held mobile devices is being highlighted during My Red Thumb Day - today.

SW housing market dips for first time in 13 months

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has published its annual advice trend statistics for the year-ending 31st March 2016.

The charity has recruited 29 more volunteers over the last 12 months and this is reflected in the annual results, with the charity helping 36% more people with their advice and information needs since April 2015.

Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education English teacher, Deb Thomas is one of the top six teachers in the UK in line to win a Pearson Teaching Award for 2016 Teacher of Year.
