The Local Government Association is urging new ministers to rethink the Pay to Stay policy which will require councils to charge some of their tenants higher rents from April 2017.

It comes as new analysis reveals today that more than 70,000 social housing tenants could face rent rise bills of an average £1,000 a year from next year under government plans to increase rents for those deemed to be earning high incomes. The LGA is warning the policy would create a bureaucracy causing stress to families, further costs to councils, and financial returns to the Government far lower than...

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter admits he will have a number of selections headaches this week after his side wrapped up their pre-season programme with a 32-16 win at the Dragons.

Having already accrued victories over the Scarlets and Ulster Rugby on home soil, the Aviva Premiership made it a full house thanks to a powerful second half display at Rodney Parade.

Winger Olly Woodburn helped himself to a hat-trick of tries on the night, while there were further touchdowns for hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie and centre Ollie Devoto.

Although satisfied to round things off...

But without the hard work of Dartmoor Rangers and volunteers the picture wouldn’t be quite the same.

Because, without their ceaseless work, in some of the more popular places to visit, you’d be sitting...

Chiefs continue unbeaten run

Exeter Chiefs will head into the new Aviva Premiership season with an unblemished record from pre-season after they chalked up a third straight win (16-32) against the Dragons.

A strong second half display from Rob Baxter’s side saw them pull clear of their Welsh rivals, who for at least half of the game, put up a more than creditable fight at Rodney Parade.

In the end, though, the Chiefs had too much in the tank and with in-form winger Olly Woodburn (pictured) helping himself to a hat-trick of tries on the night, it was a satisfying outcome for the Devonians who added...
