Exeter based financial planning firm Paradigm Norton has been honoured with the UK’s most coveted business award. Paradigm Norton is one of only 185 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in 2026, with just 36 receiving an award for sustainable development.

Anglo-Welsh Cup fixtures confirmed

Premiership Rugby have today confirmed the kick-off dates and times for the final two pool games in this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Exeter Chiefs will play host to Wasps in Round 3 on Saturday, January 28 (3pm) before travelling to Bristol Rugby in Round 4 on Sunday, February 5 (3pm).

The Chiefs currently sit second in Pool 2 having lost 29-15 at Harlequins in their opening fixture, before thumping Cardiff Blues 62-25at Sandy Park in their latest outing.

Neither will be screened by BT Sport, who have opted to show the following fixtures over the final two rounds....

Rail line into Exeter still closed

Heavy rain has flooded the railway at Cowley Bridge, between Exeter St Davids and Taunton. Trains between these stations are currently unable to run.

Great Western Railway are advising customers not to travel unless absolutely necessary. At present, only very limited replacement road transport can be sourced.

Where possible Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and stations in Devon & Cornwall will be diverted via an alternative route where resources are available to do so.

Major disruption to London main line

Trains will be unable to pass the London main line at Cowley Bridge for 48 hours after several 'wash outs' along the track.

However, passengers can reach the capital from Exeter Central station to Waterloo.

A team of 50 engineers has been drafted in to reapir the damage which is said to be extensive.

The disruption has been caused by the heavy rain, which has fallen over the past two days.

No trains between Exeter and Barnstaple

The railway has flooded between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple which means trains are unable to run between these stations. This is expected to continue until 18:00 (TUES).

Customer Advice:

At present, no replacement road transport can be sourced, customers are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Where possible, customers travelling towards Bristol Temple Meads or London Paddington are advised to go to Tiverton Parkway where onward travel is available.

Alert issued as more rain forecast

Residents were today (MONDAY) warned to be on alert after further heavy, persistent rain was expected to move across southwest England. Although the more persistent rain should clear from Devon by early afternoon, heavy and possibly thundery showers are likely to follow.

Please be prepared for disruption to transport due to localised flooding, whilst flooding of homes and businesses is also possible.
