Exeter City Council has today announced it will be submitting an expression of interest (EOI) for the prestigious UK City of Culture title. 

The City of Culture bid follows the culmination of five months extensive engagement and consultation with artists, creatives, cultural organisations and residents to shape the council’s commissioned new five-year Cultural Strategy for Exeter.

Logistics firm Kay Transport, in Ivybridge, is helping to transport an industry record number of pallets this Christmas and move goods worth at least £340 million to the British economy.

Kay Transport is a member of Palletways UK, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network which reports that, in November, more than 500,000 pallets were moved. December started with a record week of 117,000 pallets handled – the final figure is expected to hit 350,000. The combined 850,000 total is an industry record.

The Post Office is reminding customers that the CWU has called strike action in 300 of its 11,600 branches on Saturday 24th December, which may result in the closure of some of these branches.

UK house prices to increase by 3% in 2017

House prices in the UK will see an average increase of 3% over the course of next year as the number of transactions stabilises, according to the RICS housing forecast for 2017.
