Accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards has announced two significant promotions within its Exeter and Holsworthy teams.

Exeter-based healthcare specialist Kelly Derham Nester has been promoted from Senior Manager to Director. She joined Simpkins Edwards in 2024 with a strong track record in the healthcare sector, having worked within it since the start of her accounting career in 2012.

Kelly works closely with medical practice teams on internal finance matters and supports GP partners with personal tax and NHS pension matters.

Egg-cellent Easter fundraising at Exeter builders merchant

The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is continuing its fundraising for Children’s Hospice South West with an Easter competition.

Between Monday 12th March and Monday 26th March, the branch is inviting customers to make a donation and guess how many mini eggs are in a tub for the chance to win a Marvellously Magnificent Easter egg from Thorntons.

The person who guesses correctly, or comes the closest, will be named the winner and invited to the branch to collect their prize in time for it to be enjoyed over the Easter weekend.

Retirees reluctant to rest up

Baby Boomers’ work is never quite done as many continue to bolster businesses, charities and their families when they retire, according to new research from wealth manager Brewin Dolphin. Police appeal after attempted armed robbery at Exminster petrol station

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery which happened on Sunday 4 March 2018 at an Exminster filling station.

As Exeter Chiefs chase a fourth successive appearance in the Anglo-Welsh Cup final, skills coach Ricky Pellow insists lessons have been learnt from past experiences within the competition.
