Foot Anstey strengthens Partnership with strategic promotions

National law firm Foot Anstey has announced the promotion of three of its lawyers to the firm's Partnership. Taking effect from 1 May 2024, the internal promotions bring the total number of Partners at the firm to 66.

Joining the Partnership are:

  • Anna Phillips – leading the firm’s charity property practice, from her base in Exeter.
  • Lara Borrett-Lynch – Head of Affordable Housing, based in Southampton.
  • Mark Greatholder – who leads Foot Anstey’s Commercial Energy practice from Bristol.

National social mobility tour begins at Exeter College

Former Secretary of State for Education the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP visited Exeter College on Friday (1 June) on the first leg of her national social mobility tour.

The summer-long tour of schools, colleges and businesses across the UK will champion social mobility and uncover some of the barriers.

A cheque for £700 has been presented to the Devon Memory Café Consortium (DMCC) by Teignbridge District Council’s former Chairman, Councillor Timothy Golder.

Continuing an annual tradition passed on by each Teignbridge Chairman, money raised by the Chairman’s Charity has come from various events, including a raffle at Teignbridge’s Sports and Community Awards which raised £411 and Teignbridge’s civic service held earlier this year at St John’s Church in Bishopsteignton.

Shaun Pike has been appointed as site manager at Minerva - Barratt Homes’ new development in Exeter where work is underway to create a community of 159 new homes.

Shaun will be responsible for overseeing construction at the site, liaising with construction workers, subcontractors and suppliers. With more than 37 years’ experience in the housing industry, he previously worked on Barratt’s successful Riverside Park development in Fremington near Barnstaple and will play a key role in mentoring local apprentices working on this latest new community.

Citizens Advice Exeter thanks volunteers for making a huge difference to people’s lives

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is celebrating its volunteers who dedicate their time to solving people’s problems and making a difference to their lives.

Volunteers Week, which runs from 1-7 June, recognises the contribution that volunteers across the UK make, and the charity is highlighting the work of its own team, which helps people in the community struggling with debt, housing, benefit and employment issues among other issues.

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to be supporting Children’s Hospice South West’s charity Rainbow Run by sponsoring its blue paint station.

Taking place on Saturday 9th June at Exeter’s Westpoint, 2,000 runners are expected to take part in the fundraising event and run, walk or jog their way around the 5k course, meeting various coloured paint stations along the way.
