A project is underway at Knightshayes as part of an effort to create an archive of recorded memories from people who met and knew Joyce, Lady Heathcoat Amory. The team at Knightshayes are on a hunt to find anyone who might have known Joyce, visited her, met her, played golf with her or have any memories they’d like to share. Exeter and Teignbridge councils are stepping up their homelessness support with a new campaign aimed at highlighting all the good work that goes on in the area and raising awareness of the issue.

Work to replace traffic signals at a junction in Exeter will get underway on Monday (9 October).

Essential maintenance is needed on the signals at the junction of Pennsylvannia Road, Union Road and Prince of Wales Road in Exeter. The traffic signals, poles and electrics are at the end of their serviceable lives and will be replaced, and repairs will also be carried out to cable ducting. Overnight closures planned on Bridge Road in Exeter

Night time closures will be in place on Bridge Road in Exeter over four evenings next week.

The road will be closed overnight from 8:30pm to 5:30am on Monday night (9 October). It will then be closed from 10pm to 5:30am on the evenings of Tuesday (10 October), Wednesday (11 October) and Thursday (12 October). All four lanes will be open during the daytime. The oldest community transport scheme in Devon is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week (Wednesday 4 October).

The Exe Valley Market Bus, which operates in the Oakford, Stoodleigh and Washfield area of Mid Devon, started operating on 4 October 1977.
