The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. Tesco customers in Exeter donate more than 11,000 meals this Christmas

Kind-hearted customers at Tesco stores across Exeter have donated thousands of meals to people in need this Christmas.

Shoppers gave 11,171 meals for food charities FareShare and The Trussell Trust during the Tesco Food Collection, which ran in stores in Exeter from 29 November to 1 December.

It has been well reported in the UK that personal loans provider Wonga faced serious trouble and has collapsed into administration, but details of how the company has fared in other countries has not been as well documented.

Exeter builders merchant thanks community for Christmas present donations

The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is thanking the generous local community for donating gifts to its 2018 Christmas Giving Tree Appeal in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

The builders merchant invited customers to donate gifts so that a hamper of presents could be given to every family being supported by the hospice over the festive period. The donations have now been passed on to the charity in time to be given out on Christmas day.

The biggest sit down event ever held at Sandy Park

On Tuesday 11th December the Devon and Cornwall region of the Lord’s Taverners held their Christmas Lunch at Exeter’s famous Sandy Park. A record-breaking 636 people descended upon the grounds; comprising of local business, organisations and their guests. A lunch of this scale is a first for Exeter.

Through generous sponsorship and donated prizes the lunch raised just over £70,000. That is a fantastic amount and will allow the Lord’s Taverners charity to continue their work of enhancing disabled young people’s lives, through the use of sports such as cricket.
