The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. Devon County Council’s Cabinet has agreed an updated streetlighting policy to continue to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The energy costs of operating more than 88,000 streetlights and other lighting assets across the county is around £3 million this financial year – and it accounts for a significant amount of the County Council's carbon emissions.

Over the past three years, the County Council has converted over 25,000 street lights to low energy LED technology and has replaced more than 5,400 streetlighting columns.

Car parking charges set to increase in Exeter

Car parking charges in Exeter are set to rise by 10 per cent from April to support the City Council’s aim of reducing congestion, while helping it to balance its budget.
