Exeter-based employment lawyer joins Westbank Community Health and Care’s Board of Trustees

The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. When he subsequently learnt that Westbank was looking for a law-oriented Trustee to join its Board, he was quick to express his interest in the role.

New facility heralds the end of  dustbin waste going to landfill in Devon

A new waste transfer station at Bynsworthy, Barnstaple will become fully operational on Monday 11 February 2019.

The new facility will enable Devon County Council to bulk up and transfer non-recyclable ‘wheelie bin/black bag’ waste collected in the North Devon and Torridge areas away from landfill to Energy from Waste facilities where it is converted into electricity.

Worrying new research published in Accountancy Age has revealed that with less than two months to go until ‘Making Tax Digital’ becomes mandatory on 01 April, just 57 per cent of UK businesses are expected to be ready for the change.

Applications for grants from The Prince’s Countryside Fund close on February 21st 2019.

The Fund gives out grants twice a year, and projects in rural areas across the UK can apply for funding of up to £50,000 in the spring round of funding.
