Exeter-based employment lawyer joins Westbank Community Health and Care’s Board of Trustees

The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. Plans for new entertainment venue in Exeter to be explored

Plans to look into the feasibility of a new multi-purpose performance venue in Exeter City Centre have taken a step forward.

Exeter City Council has appointed destination development experts Fourth Street to explore the potential, opportunity and viability of an entertainment venue as part of the £300 million plans to redevelop the wider St Sidwell’s Point area – next to the leisure centre and new bus station - which were revealed in November.

Exeter is to host a new forum for the public to air their views directly to policy makers at the Bank of England.

The Citizens’ Panel will offer people a chance to tell the Bank what they think about issues such as jobs, pay, housing and the cost of living.

The panels are being established following the publication of a report by the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce which called on the Bank to create new panels across the UK to improve its understanding of the economy.

Exeter wins funding to tackle homelessness

Exeter has won funding to help get homeless people off the streets and into homes, the City Council has announced.

Exeter City Council will received £120,800 from the government.

Record year for tourism in South Devon and bumper start to 2019

Latest figures from Visit South Devon reveal that 2018 was an exceptional year for tourism with visitors to www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk up more than 5% on 2017.
