A £2.2 million scheme to ease congestion at Moor Lane roundabout in Exeter has received the backing of Devon County Council’s Cabinet. Cabinet members have approved construction of the improvements on one of the main accesses into the city. Exeter’s 16th annual Really Big Quiz, organised by chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards, has raised over £7,000 for the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s charity of the year SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity.

Overnight road closures are needed to carry out essential resurfacing work on the A382 Ford Street, Moretonhampstead later this month.

Devon-based bacon producer Denhay has announced it has switched its products’ packaging to fully recyclable clear trays made from 25% recycled plastic - completely removing black plastic from any retail packs of bacon which will avoid an estimated 60 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from going to landfill.

Denhay’s new easy-peel packaging is both consumer and environmentally-friendly, as the clear plastic tray can be recycled by most waste management facilities across the UK through local authority recycling schemes.
