Business from across the South West came together at City Padel Exeter to raise £900 for FORCE Cancer Chairty as part of a charity padel tournament hosted by Konker .

The event saw 12 local businesses compete in a friendly tournament, combining sport, networking and fundraising in support of Devon based cancer charity. Exeter’s Really Big Quiz raises thousands for charity

Exeter’s 16th annual Really Big Quiz, organised by chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards, has raised over £7,000 for the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s charity of the year SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity.

The quiz, which took place on 08 May, saw 68 teams fight it out for the title of Exeter’s smartest egg-heads. Overnight road closures are needed to carry out essential resurfacing work on the A382 Ford Street, Moretonhampstead later this month.

Circumstance and weather permitting the work will take place over 5 nights from Monday 20 to Friday 25 May 2019.

Devon-based bacon producer Denhay has announced it has switched its products’ packaging to fully recyclable clear trays made from 25% recycled plastic - completely removing black plastic from any retail packs of bacon which will avoid an estimated 60 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from going to landfill.

Denhay’s new easy-peel packaging is both consumer and environmentally-friendly, as the clear plastic tray can be recycled by most waste management facilities across the UK through local authority recycling schemes.

Dawlish drop-in event planned to inform residents on the schedule of work for the new sea wall

Network Rail is inviting residents to a drop-in session in Dawlish to inform the local community about planned work relating to construction of the new sea wall to the west of the railway station, which is due to start at the end of May.
