A Redrow site manager at St Michael's Meadow has won a top national award for the quality of the homes they’re building in Exeter.

Roy Taylor has won a Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the second consecutive year. This follows his success in 2025 when he achieved the Seal of Excellence in the regional stage of the competition – an accolade awarded to only the top 5% of site managers in the UK.

Barbering and hairdressing students at a Devon college will now get suicide prevention training as part of their qualifications.

South Devon College in Torquay and The Lions Barber Collective have joined forces to set up the first ever Lions Barber Academy.

The charity was founded by the Torquay-based and internationally recognised barber, Tom Chapman. After losing a friend to suicide, Tom, a former South Devon College student, set out to do something to help prevent others from taking their own lives.

Estate agents in and around Exeter scooped no less than five separate accolades at the Experts in Property Awards 2021.

A pilot project has been launched to help support the growth of Devon’s agricultural industry. The £500,000 Devon County Council scheme is being supported through the UK Community Renewal Fund which was recently secured by Team Devon.

New research by Acas has found that over a third (35%) of British employers have not spoken to their staff about their mental health and wellbeing over the past year during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Acas commissioned YouGov to ask businesses in Britain about whether they had personally talked to their staff about their mental health in the last 12 months during the pandemic. The poll found that:

A Plymouth data security expert has revealed how hackers work – and that something as simple as posting a picture from your child’s birthday party can put your business at risk.
