A local top 30 advisory firm has given £1,000 to charity with the help of attendees at TEDxExeter.

Bishop Fleming, sponsored the annual conference for the fourth consecutive year, which saw an amazing day take place in the heart of Exeter on April 5.

An exciting opportunity was given to the entire audience at the city’s leading ideas festival, to help one of the six charitable causes attending to receive a £1,000 charitable donation.

SMEs in the South West see £2.8bn turnover growth in three years, new research shows

A group of high potential SMEs in the South West has generated £2.8bn of turnover growth in the last three years and represents the third highest proportion of growing businesses in the UK, according to new research by BGF, the UK and Ireland’s most active investor.

The research calculates growth in turnover and employees among the UK’s private companies with revenues between £3m and £150m, a category of 13,286 businesses nationwide, 937 of which are based in the South West.

Sparx, an Exeter-based learning technology company has won an Education Resource Award in the category of ‘Collaboration between School and Supplier’, in recognition of its partnership with the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust.

Local trades invited to free anti-theft tool marking event

RGB Building Supplies’ Exeter branch is inviting local trades to help protect their equipment against theft with a free tool marking event on Wednesday 10th April.

Between 8am and 2pm, Devon and Cornwall Police will be in the branch giving advice and handing out free tool marking kits supplied by RGB. The kits help deter theft, make it more difficult for stolen equipment to be sold on, and help reunite tools with their owners.

Visitors will also be able to pick up stickers to put in vehicles warning that there are no items of value inside.

Final weekend of lane restrictions at Exe Bridges

The final weekend of lane restrictions at Exe Bridges will take place this weekend (6 and 7 April).

Lane restrictions will again be in place in order to complete resurfacing and waterproofing work on Exe Bridge South.
