UK and Ireland law firm, Browne Jacobson is backing a national effort to mobilise millions of volunteers while strengthening its employee volunteering offer, as a Founder Member of GoVo , the digital volunteering platform developed by Royal Voluntary Service.

This weekend Pitman Training opened its doors to jobseekers across Devon and Cornwall. Launched by local businesswoman Susan De Mey, the new centre aims to help people improve their career prospects, gain promotions or get back to work.

Food manufacturer Paramount 21 is increasing wages for workers at its Newton Abbot site by paying the real Living Wage, the only rate designed to meet the true cost of living.

Based on Heathfield industrial estate, the family-owned company is now an accredited Living Wage Employer. The real Living Wage, currently £9.50 per hour, is significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £8.91 per hour.
