Exeter City Community Trust, the charitable arm of Exeter City Football Club, is stepping into a new sport as it joins a major national initiative to grow women’s rugby in the city ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

His most recent challenge saw him go head-to-head with fellow former campmates Dean Gaffney and Rosemary Shrager, not in the jungle but on a Catchphrase celebrity special last weekend.

Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants has presented Devon Air Ambulance with a cheque for £691. The donation brings the total the firm has raised for the charity over the last 15 years to £5,641.

Terminal illness charity Marie Curie urgently needs volunteers in Exeter on Thursday (19th). The charity is asking locals to volunteer just two hours of their time for a local supermarket collection.

Lauren Peters, Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for Devon, said: “We urgently need people to help with a collection at Sainsburys on Alphington Road on Thursday 19th December. A collection can raise around £250 of vital funds, so we don’t want to miss out on the opportunity.

EGGHEADS from Devon can test their general knowledge and help raise money for a good cause during a quiz night being held at an award-winning pub in the county this month (December 2019).

Ottery coffee shop Tickety-Boo has pledged to raise more funds for its chosen charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund with a special ‘mince pie week’.

From Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 December, the coffee shop team will donate the price of a mince pie to ELF for each one bought by a customer. That’s £1.50 per mince pie!

Charities that enhance and often saves the lives of Devon people have received £50,000 to continue their amazing work.

The supermarket chain is marking its Centenary year with two special Bags of Help funding rounds, with a huge £100,000 funding pot in Devon.

The first of these special rounds concentrated on groups delivering health and wellbeing benefits. In first place, Devon Air Ambulance Trust has been awarded £25,000. In second place, HeadsUP Mental Health Awareness Limited has been awarded £15,000. In third place, Pete's Dragons has been awarded £10,000.

Children’s Hospice South West is calling on companies to help sponsor one of its children’s nurses this Christmas.

The charity, which runs children’s hospices in Bristol, St Austell and Barnstaple is asking firms to pledge £1,000 towards its ‘Sponsor a Nurse’ appeal and help make Christmas just that little bit more special for local families this year.
