Grecians beaten in thrilling encounter at Sincil Bank

Exeter City fell to a 3-2 defeat against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank in Sky Bet League Two on Good Friday.

In an exciting encounter, the Grecians took the lead through Jayden Stockley after 10 minutes before they were pegged back by Danny Rowe's low header.

Lincoln then went ahead just moments after the restart through Matt Green's low finish but despite City levelling through Jake Taylor and hitting the woodword multiple times, Ollie Palmer stepped up to seal the win for the Imps.

Ricky Pellow is confident his Exeter side can deliver the telling blows when the Chiefs come face-to-face with rivals Bath in tomorrow’s Anglo-Welsh Cup Final at Kingsholm (2:30pm). With the two set to meet a fortnight ago – only for the ‘Beast from the East’ to put pay to that – the Westcountry counterparts locked horns last Friday night in the Aviva Premiership with the Chiefs emerging triumphant thanks to a late Joe Simmonds penalty. Now, the pair are set for a third and final round of battle with the prize at stake being the first piece of major silverware on offer this season. “We’re...

The 27-year-old winger is Rob Baxter’s first new signing ahead of the 2018/19 season and is a prominent new addition to the Chiefs squad.

“I’m very excited about the move,” said Cuthbert. “I’ve played all of my rugby in Wales and I...

Grecians take important victory at St James Park

Exeter City maintained their Sky Bet League Two promotion push as they sealed a 3-1 win over Swindon Town at St James Park.

If today is ‘Super Saturday’ in the Aviva Premiership, then ‘Fantastic Friday’ offered the perfect build-up as Exeter Chiefs extended their lead at the top of the division to 11 points with victory over Bath.

Rob Baxter’s side only collected their first-ever Premiership win at the Recreation Ground last season, when late heroics from James Short saw them down their local rivals right at the death.

A year down the line and Devon’s finest again left it late to grab the spoils in this derby encounter, Joe Simmonds pocketing a penalty three minutes from time to ensure the...

Grecians battle to take narrow victory on the road

Exeter City battled well to take all three points as they beat Port Vale 1-0 in Sky Bet League Two.

Jordan Storey scored his first senior goal in the first-half which was enough to win it for the Grecians, who had to defend well against a Vale side who put City under considerable aerial pressure.

But credit to City who defended excellently, with standout performances from Storey and Pierce Sweeney in the centre of defence.
