Wilkinson Grant pledge to support Exeter’s homeless

Leading West Country Independent Estate Agents, Wilkinson Grant & Co have launched their annual campaign to raise awareness and help the homeless community in Exeter.

The agency has pledged to donate gifts to homeless individuals for each property they list for sale, or to let, before Christmas.

This year they have added a further dimension to the campaign by also pledging to make an additional donation to YMCA Exeter for each property sold or let in that time.

Dartmoor National Park has had a golden 2015/16 with top awards going to a number of Dartmoor based tourism businesses.

In an award ceremony held last week Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centres were awarded Gold in the 2015/16 Devon Tourism Awards. The Centres at Princetown, Postbridge and Haytor scooped the Golden Award in the Tourism Information category.

Rolle College campus shuts its doors again

Start-up businesses and community groups will no longer be able to use the Owen Building on the former Rolle College site in Exmouth from the end of November 2016.

Plans for major redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station move forward

A leading city councillor has welcomed progress on the multi-million pound redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station.

And the authority has pledged that everything will be done to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum while the work is being carried out.

Planning Inspectorate publish report on Devon Minerals Plan

Devon County Council’s new Minerals Plan is set to be adopted following support from the Government’s Planning Inspectorate.

The report, published following a public inquiry in May, concludes that the Plan meets legal requirements and provides an appropriate basis for the future quarrying plans in the county for the next 17 years.

A Brothers Grimm spell has been cast over Killerton this Christmas.

For the first time, the National Trust property will be transformed into classic fairy tales with a festive twist from Saturday 19 November.

A new countryside park for the local community has been given the go-ahead today on land between Exeter Road and Eastdon Woods north of Shutterton Lane in Dawlish.
