Mr and Mrs Walter and Elsie Nicholls, residents at RMBI care home Cadogan Court in Exeter, celebrated 70 years of marriage on 4 January 2017. Residents and staff gathered in the Home's dining room to celebrate the occasion with musical entertainment by a band with banjos and a special lunch. The Seaton Down Hoard Roman Roadshow will be at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum’s (RAMM) on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February 2017.
Buried in East Devon around AD350 and only discovered in 2013, the Seaton Down Hoard is made up of 22,888 coins and three iron ingots. It is the fourth largest hoard of Roman coins ever found.
Saving it for Devon was made possible by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Clinton Estates, a private donation by Patrick Long, and many contributions by members of the public. To celebrate its return, a Roman Roadshow is touring Devon.
A new 24 hour maternity triage service is set to launch at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, which will give expectant mums direct access to support from qualified midwives if they have concerns about their pregnancy.
The service, which opens on 23rd January, includes a new triage team of experienced midwives, a triage unit within the Ante/Postnatal Ward and a dedicated 24 hour phone number to call for help and guidance.

Exeter Northcott Theatre is proud to announce its inaugural Easter School and is looking for creative youngsters to take part.
The week long Easter School will take place from Monday 3 April – Friday 7 April 2017 and will see participants create a piece of devised theatre from scratch. The week will culminate in a sharing of work for friends and family on the Friday evening.
