Thousands of Olly Murs fans have been left disappointed after it was announced that his concert at Powderham Castle next weekend has been cancelled.

Event organisers, Stephen C Associates Limited, has gone into insolvency and is now expected to go into liquidation.

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Proms event which was due to take place on Sunday 30 July has also been cancelled.

Crediton mum takes to the skies for charity

A woman from Crediton has raised a phenomenal £1122 by taking to the skies and jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet to help support the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) life saving research.

Gill Davies, 34, was inspired to do the jump for the love of her daughter Caitlin, who was sadly born with a serious, and at times life threatening heart condition.

With tens of thousands of holidaymakers due to descend on us over the next few weeks, the emergency services have united in a campaign aimed at keeping everyone safe on the coast.

New art residencies will help people discover riverside parks

Two artists are creating opportunities for people to explore, reflect on and shape the future of Exeter’s green spaces.

The artwork is part of an overall plan to improve the Riverside Valley Park, which is loved by visitors and residents of Exeter alike.

Exeter City Council, which owns the land, has identified ways to improve the Park, set out in the Riverside and Ludwell Valley Park Masterplan. Suggestions include more opportunities for adventurous play, new orchards and flower-rich meadows.

Attempted murder investigation launched after man stabbed in Tiverton

At around 11pm on Monday evening (17 July), police were informed by the ambulance service that a man in his thirties had received a stab wound to his side.

This was understood to have taken place sometime between 10.30pm and just before 11pm, probably close to the White Ball pub on Bridge Street.

The victim entered the pub from the Westexe direction requesting medical help. It was at this point staff called 999.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries the casualty was airlifted by the air ambulance to Derriford hospital in Plymouth.
