Loving son to Kenneth and the late Enid, dad to Ken, Abi and Chloe, brother to Chris, Graham, Paul and Stephan.

A fascinating collection of personal letters from a host of British literature luminaries to Henry Williamson, the author of Tarka the Otter have been donated to the University of Exeter. The University has received more than 2,000 letters from such celebrated writers, including, Siegfried Sassoon, John Betjeman and Enid Blyton as part of Williamson’s extensive personal archive. The letters arrive at the University almost 50 years to the day since Williamson first donated his literary manuscripts. Dartmoor National Park is a stronghold for the cuckoo which has suffered a huge decline in the UK in recent years. Earlier in the year we asked you to help us by letting us know when and where you have heard a cuckoo on Dartmoor. This is so we can build up a better picture of their movements and perhaps begin to understand what is causing this national decline.

A quarter of (25%) cancer patients struggle to manage the emotional impact of the disease with many facing sleep problems, nightmares, fear and anxiety as a result of diagnosis, according to new analysis by Macmillan Cancer Support.
The analysis, just launched at the Cancer Outcomes Conference in Belfast last week, takes data from almost 4,000 care plans based on Electronic Holistic Needs Assessments (eHNA). For the first time, it has revealed the top ten concerns of people with cancer after diagnosis. They are:
