Search and rescue helicopters from the Royal Navy have made more than 25 emergency journeys during the recent storms.
9 people were rescued in the West Country with helicopter crews from Royal Navy Station Culdrose battling with the extreme conditions.

A new zebra crossing is to be installed on the A3126 in Tiverton.
Work on the Devon County Council scheme, which will create a crossing at Leat Street, is due to start on Monday 13 January.
Crossing Leat Street is difficult for pedestrians at present, due to limited visibility of traffic exiting the roundabout with Kennedy Way.

Forecasters are warning that waves upwards of 30ft as “Winter Storm Hercules” hits Devon. The storm has been confirmed to be the same weather system responsible for the recent “Deep-Freeze” in the US by the Met Office.
The latest storm is expected to see 60mph and 70mph winds and higher than usual waves.

A Flybe plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Paris on Saturday due to “minor technical” difficulties.

Firefighters from Crediton and Devon and Somerset's Fire and Rescue Service's Specialist Rescue Team from Exeter were called in to save two Bullocks stuck in 4ft of water near Crediton.
On arrival crews found the animals stuck in a slow moving semi-stagnant stream and used water safety equipment to rescue the animals.
A bulllock can cost anywhere between several hundred to several thousand pounds depending on the breed and age of the animal.
