More than £450 million has been invested into Exeter’s economy over the past four years, new figures have revealed.
The figures from Exeter City Council, Devon County Council and East Devon District Council show a substantial boost in educational, cultural and transport improvements. A large amount of commercial and residential property projects have also contributed towards the figure, with at least another £40 million worth of public and private investment expected by the end of 2016.

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Exeter are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A 21-year-old local man was found unconscious in the road in Cowick Street, St Thomas, shortly before 4.20am on Saturday 8 August. He had suffered serious head and neck injuries.
Officers believe he had been the victim of an assault at the junction of Cowick Street and Old Vicarage Road before being struck by a car, driven by a 37-year-old man from the Exeter area. The collision is believed to be unrelated to the assault.
The specialist police force for the rail network released crime figures for its Western sub-division* today (Wednesday, 19 August) alongside its national annual report, which showed crime had fallen across Britain’s railways for the eleventh consecutive year.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 32-year-old man from Exeter who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his prison license conditions.
Shay Scales (pictured) was originally charged with theft and imprisoned earlier this year but has failed to comply with conditions of his prison release license as part of his probation.
Numerous enquiries have been made by police to try and locate him.
Police are asking the public for information about his whereabouts and to report any sightings to them.
The Princesshay Partnership, comprising The Crown Estate and TH Real Estate, has submitted a planning application to transform the lower levels of Broadwalk House into new restaurants, opposite Princesshay Shopping Centre’s Roman Walk.
The planning application would see the ground floor of Broadwalk House North turned into two new restaurants, surrounded by new landscaped terraces to allow visitors to enjoy an outdoor dining experience during the warmer months of the year. Police in Honiton are appealing for information following two burglaries in the Town.
Two burglaries took place at static homes located on Otter Valley Park in Honiton, sometime between 1pm on Friday 6 August and 8am on Saturday 7 August.
