Exeter house prices to rise faster than UK average in next five years

Research published by property consultancy JLL shows that Exeter house prices are expected to rise at a faster rate than the UK average over the next five years.

JLL predicts that Exeter will experience an average year on year price rise of 3.9% between 2017 and 2021, compared with 2.5% for the rest of the UK.

Prices are expected to go up by 4% from last year in 2017 and another 4% in 2018, although JLL expects this year on year increase to slightly fall in subsequent years to 3.5% in 2019 and 2020, before rising again to 4% in 2021.

Essential traffic signal works in Exeter

Essential maintenance work is due to start today (Tuesday 28 February) on traffic signals at two junctions in Exeter.

Traffic signals, poles and electrics at the junction of Pinhoe Road, Hamlin Lane and Beacon Lane, and the junction of Queen Street and Paul Street are being replaced as part of a Devon County Council scheme to upgrade signals which have reached the end of their serviceable life.

Police appeal after man stabbed in Exeter

Police were called at around 9.40pm on Thursday 23rd of February with reports of an altercation between Oxford Road and York Road, near Sidwell Street in Exeter.

It is believed that the victim, a local man in his 30’s was attacked by three black men who later fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim sustained a knife injury to the buttocks and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Devon takes a bite out of food waste

Devon County Council has joined forces with local and regional authorities across six other European countries on a new four year research project, aimed at reducing the amount of food waste in the supply chain.

The project, called ECOWASTE4FOOD, is funded by the Interreg Europe programme and includes authorities from France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland and Poland.
