Your Neighbourhood Police Teams are always looking at the best ways to engage with our residents.

After trying 'Have Your Say' meetings with limited success we're now going to hold a Community Meeting.

This meeting will be for all residents who live on the 'West Side' of the river including Alphington and Marsh Barton, Cowick and St Thomas and also Exwick.

You'll be able to meet all the Police Teams who manage these area as well as the local Councillors and other partner agency colleagues.

We're currently looking at the agenda to try and cover most topics...

Christmas is a time of year when we all get involved with certain traditions. Hanging the mistletoe, brussels sprouts, mince pies, Christmas trees, office parties, so the list goes on…. And it’s no different for retired police officer Barry Frost, 59, from Exeter. However one of Barry’s festive traditions is a tad more unusual than most.

Lounge proves most popular spot for online shopping

As the Christmas shopping season approaches it seems that we are happiest making our online purchases while sat in the comfort of our lounge.

A survey by five star housebuilder David Wilson Homes, which is currently building new homes across Exeter, reveals that almost 60 per cent of us would rather do our shopping from the comfort of our lounge than anywhere else in the house.

The study about where people prefer to make their online purchases found that the home office was also a popular option among those questioned, followed by the bedroom and kitchen.

Rainbow Living’s Treasurer Ruth Airdrie has attended Buckingham Palace for her MBE investiture ceremony.

Ruth was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday 2017 Honours list, in recognition of the voluntary work she has undertaken for Rainbow Living over the last 11 years.

Ruth visited the palace with her husband John and daughter Sarah for the investiture ceremony. The MBE was presented by HRH Prince Charles.

Disability charities and clubs from across the county meet for a special music day in Exeter to celebrate an amazing project and to meet up and make new friends.

A special one-day event is coming to Exeter this December, as participants and organisations involved in the groundbreaking “Make Music, Make a Change” project come together to share what they’ve learned and make some new music!

Police appeal after three injured in Devon crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle collision that happened on Saturday 25November 2017 on an unclassified road at Batsworthy Cross near Rackenford in Devon.

Officers were notified at around 1.40pm to reports that a black Seat Ibiza and a silver Land Rover Freelander were involved in a collision.

The Seat driver, a woman from the Midlands, and a male passenger, both suffered serious life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and were taken to Derriford Hospital and North Devon District Hospital.

Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum has won Gold in the 2017 Devon Tourism Awards for Large Attraction. RAMM also scooped a Silver award for Access and Inclusivity and Bronze award for Artistic, Cultural and Learning Attraction.

“Exceptional” University of Exeter trainee teachers are helping to “significantly enhance” the quality of education in South West schools, inspectors have said.

RD&E neurological ward receives £1,250 from local Freemasons

Bolham Ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital has received a donation of £1,250 from a group of Devon Freemasons as part of their bi-annual WAKE Fund presentation.

Every spring and autumn Freemasons from around Devon meet to give support totalling in excess of £50,000 to local charities and organisations throughout the county who are in need of assistance. The money is raised by the WAKE Fund, a trust conceived by the Right Worshipful Brother William Alexander Kneel, Provincial Grand Master from 1970 to 1984.
