Thousands of people are expected to visit Belmont Park in the city this weekend to celebrate Exeter Respect 2014. Exeter Respect, city's annual celebration of diversity aims to use the performing and creative arts to engage the wider community in saying no to racism and all forms of prejudice. Devon joins National Scams Team

Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service has joined a national initiative to support victims of mass marketing scams.

The National Scams Team is a project funded by the National Trading Standards Board and hosted by East Sussex Trading Standards Service. It works with local trading standards authorities, and a range of other organisations including the Police and Royal Mail to help identify serial victims of mass marketing scams.

Sporting enthusiasts from a wheelchair badminton club in Devon will be able to enjoy new equipment, thanks to a generous donation from local heating oil supplier. The Devon Racqueteers Club was formed in 2008 and is now the largest wheelchair badminton club in the UK. Members enjoy the social side of meeting together and playing for fun and have also had considerable success winning many gold and silver medals at various competitions. Chiefs launch search for WW1 players

Exeter Rugby Club are hoping that Chiefs supporters and the local community can help them in their quest to find out more about the brave former players who gave their lives during World War One.

East Devon District Council has evicted a third tenant from council-owned flat due to anti social behaviour.

The council had recently evicted two other tenants from flats in Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton due to repeated incidents of anti social behaviour

The tenat from Budleigh Salteron was evicted earlier this week while a court granted EDDC an eviction order for the Exmouth property in April.

Now EDDC has evicted a tenant from a flat at 8 Powell Close, Seaton, where one of the issues was repeated anti social behaviour.

Today three men came to my aid after my Ford KA skidded across an Exeter dual carriageway.

I had just passed Sandy Park and Tescos when my car came into difficulties, leaving me facing oncoming traffic.

A white van man and two passers by came to my aid, ensuring I was ok and my car was moved safely out of the road.

Topsham flood repairs completed

Significant works to repair the damage in Topsham caused by the winter storms have been completed a day early..

The repairs, to the flood defence wall at Bowling Green Marsh, Topsham were funded by Exeter City Council.

Contractors working for the City Council began work on 28 April and finished a day earlier than the expected Friday 30 May today.

A large section of the coastal defence alongside the River Clyst frontage was severely damaged during the high tides and storm damage in January and February.

Police in Cullompton are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in the Town. The incident occurred in Middle Mill Lane, Cullompton, between 11.30pm and midnight on Sunday 25th May. A 19yr old woman was walking down Middle Mill Lane, Cullompton, from the High Street, towards the Tesco Superstore when she was pushed from behind by a man.

Exeter's Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building has won a prestigious property award. Judges of the Michelmores and Western Morning News Property Awards commended the building as a "real asset" for Exeter.
