George Vosper lives with pulmonary fibrosis – a little known but devastating lung disease which progressively scars the lungs making breathing increasingly difficult. It is deadly and there is no cure. 15 people die every day in the UK from pulmonary fibrosis. George describes it like living high on a mountain where the air is thin and the oxygen level low. Since his diagnosis in 2019, he has got used to experiencing breathlessness, coughing fits, tiredness, and a lack of concentration, as the low oxygen levels have affected his muscles, organs, and brain – yet he’ll soon be taking part...

Calls to reduce the speed limit around a junction in the east of Exeter are to be investigated.
Councillors recently agreed to new traffic signals at the junction of Honiton Road and Tithebarn Way, near Exeter Science Park, but the plans did not include reductions to speed limits in the area.
Following a request from local councillor Sara Randall Johnson (Conservative, Broadclyst), the county council’s ruling cabinet was asked to look at cutting the speed limit around the junction on Honiton Road from 40 mph to 30 mph in view of current and proposed development in the...

On the day, visitors can join one of two guided experiences offering a rich and vibrant exploration of Caribbean, Hindu, and Polish food cultures, including:
An ‘Afternoon Tea with a Twist’ – sample sweet and savoury treats and drinks from each culture.
It’s no secret that the hospitality sector is facing something of a recruitment crisis.
A combination of Brexit and the pandemic have led to a dearth of staff who are prepared to work unsociable hours for, very often, little more than the minimum wage.
That has become evident at some establishments in my own experience with service levels deteriorating and kitchens, on occasions, having to close.
So, with that in mind I’m glad to say, Exeter’s The Ivy is very much bucking the trend.
From the moment we stepped through the door (greeted by not one but two...
Devon County Show is going back to its roots in 2023, with initiatives planned to encourage greater attendance from the farming community.
