The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Nicola Ryley as interim director of nursing.

Nicola joined the Trust this week from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in South Wales, where she had been assistant director of nursing for five years.

Nicola was responsible for the leadership and professional regulation of over 6,000 nursing and allied staff at the Health Board, one of the largest and most complex integrated NHS organisations in the UK.

Exeter Sunday Market and Car Boot Sale to close temporarily

Stagecoach have unexpectedly brought forward the start date for work on the new bus depot at Matford, meaning a temporary closure of the weekly Sunday market and car boot sale at the Exeter Livestock Centre.

This week's market (Sunday 2 November) will be the last until the new year, with the market re-opening on Sunday 3 January.

Police in Exeter are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 23-year-old man who is wanted for recall to prison.

Corey Soper, (pictured) was originally charged with theft, but has failed to comply with the conditions of his license as part of his probation. Numerous enquiries have been made by police to try and locate him.

Police are asking the public for information about his whereabouts and to report any sighting to them.

Soper has connections to Exeter, Devon and Cornwall.

Traffic signals to be replaced in Exeter

Essential work is planned on traffic signals in Exeter next week.

Maintenance replacement work is planned on the traffic signals at the Gordon’s Lamp Junction in Heavitree from Monday 2nd November 2015.

Gordon’s Lamp Junction is the junction of Magdalen Road and Fore Street.

This Devon County Council scheme is expected to be completed on Friday 20th November 2015.

This work will be coordinated with the works at Butts Road to minimise the signals costs, by treating the replacements as one scheme.
