Ceramics are to be celebrated!

Seaglass Gallery, an independent art gallery in Lympstone, will be hosting ‘A Celebration of Ceramics’ from Friday 28th April until Sunday 7th May.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10.30am-4pm ( closed Tuesday 2nd May) and will exhibit the work of contemporary ceramicists coming together to celebrate the natural forms and colours of nature.

Beautiful pots, vessels, functional ware and decorative tiles will inspire visitors, in our calm and creative space.

Programmes are now on sale for one of the most popular events on the social calendar in Devon - the Secret Gardens of Topsham , taking place on June 11.

It’s the first time the event has taken place for five years and gives hundreds of visitors a rare opportunity to see 14 hidden gem gardens. These are not normally open to the public and are dotted around the town’s streets, lanes and waterside walks.

International Dawn Chorus Day takes place on Sunday 7 May 2023 and the RSPB is inviting you to wrap your ears around nature’s finest musical experience.

Wherever you live, this amazing festival of bird song (known as the Dawn Chorus) happens on your doorstep.

Starting about an hour before sunrise (around 4:30am) birds take advantage of the still, quiet air to trumpet, squeak and caw to attract a mate and warn off rivals from their patch. Don’t worry if that’s a bit early for you, though – they often continue singing until about 7am so you can catch their final encore....

Devon & Exeter’s newest distillery is calling on people of the city to name their stills and make their mark in history.

Coastal Gin is the latest invention from Quayside Distillery, vacuum-distilled in the heart of Exeter on the historic quay, using locally grown botanicals.

Bottling up a true taste of Devon because of their specialised techniques, the futuristic stills behind Coastal Gin need a name, and the venue is asking locals to come up with a title that pays homage to their historic city.

This year, thousands of people across the UK will strip off their clothes and stroll around the grounds of gorgeous gardens, stately homes and castles to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

They’ll be taking part in British Naturism’s Naked Heart Walks, experiencing the exhilaration of being nude in the great outdoors, boosting their mental and physical health, reducing their stress - and having a lot of fun.

Mobile network services are being upgraded in Exeter boosting speed, performance and coverage. There is a small chance these improvements may cause interference to TV received through an aerial such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView.
