Stagecoach South West has this year, strengthened its partnerships with Devon County Council and Exeter City Council in relation to the joint efforts to prevent and tackle antisocial behaviour in and around Exeter’s bus station, improving safety and the overall customer experience by providing greater visibility and linking its CCTV system to the city-wide network.

There was a surprise in store for children at Heathcoat Primary School in Tiverton when an unusual competitor turned up and took part in their annual sports day.

Schoolchildren, teachers and parents alike were thrilled to see George the Mouse arrive, but their delight turned to surprise when the 6ft mouse lined up alongside the children to take part in the races.

Dartmoor Research Group finds loneliness affects all ages

The results of research into loneliness in the communities of North-East Dartmoor show that loneliness is a challenge for all age groups, not just older people.

The research was carried out over several weeks earlier this year by Wellmoor, based in Moretonhampstead, whose work covers all aspects of health and wellbeing in the North-East Dartmoor area.

Devon crowds will have the chance to see 11 of the UCI’s (Union Cycliste Internationale) top level WorldTour teams race compete in the Tour of Britain this September.

The final list of 20 teams for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain has now been confirmed and it includes the four British UCI Continental teams that have qualified for the UK’s most prestigious cycle race. Five Exmoor ponies are spending the summer and autumn grazing heathland at Trinity Hill near Axminster to bring new life to this area through conservation grazing. The ponies are on loan from the RSPB in Aylesbeare, who look after the animals during the winter.

East Devon Conservation Volunteers worked with East Devon District Council Countryside ranger, Nathan Robinson to prepare the site for the ponies. First Medicine students graduate from Exeter

The University of Exeter Medical School celebrated a major milestone on July 17, when its first Medical students graduated.

The cohort of 88 students has now completed the five year Medicine programme, and marked their outstanding achievement before moving on to the next phase of their training within the NHS.
