Teddy Swims to headline TK Maxx presents Live at Powderham 2026

GRAMMY nominated vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims today announces a run of outdoor shows and festivals across the UK and Ireland for summer 2026 including a date in the Devon countryside.

The international chart-topper will head to TK Maxx presents Live at Powderham on Thursday June 25 as the latest headline artist announced for the live music event.

East Devon propose £40m investment fund for Cranbrook as town centre moves a step closer

A special meeting of East Devon District Council’s Cabinet focused solely on Cranbrook has considered a package of investments to support the ongoing development of the district’s newest town. This included recommending that a £40m investment fund is set up to provide much-needed facilities. Before the proposals can be taken forward, they will need to be reviewed and supported by full Council at its next meeting.

A dictionary defining only one word - refugee - has been unveiled to mark today’s 70th anniversary of the UN Refugee Convention, which the UK helped launch and ratify in 1951. Containing over 1,000 personal definitions submitted by members of the public, including faith leaders, local communities, high profile figures and refugees themselves, ‘The Refugee Dictionary’ demonstrates a strong sense of solidarity and helps to illustrate the stories, lives and contributions of refugees in the UK. Desperate plea to moor visitors to help halt the spread of strangles

Visitors to Dartmoor are being urged to stay away from its native ponies to help stop the spread of a vicious new strain of strangles.

Ponies are already suffering from the highly contagious infection, and now the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is putting a firewall around the 450 hectare site it leases from Forestry England at Bellever to try and protect its herd of 27 ponies. It hopes this will prevent the infection from spreading further to other herds on the moors.

A breast cancer survivor from Exeter set out this week to ride her motorbike around Great Britain for a local charity.

Mum-of-two Kate West will ride her 600cc Honda up to 4,000 miles over four weeks in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity.

New Aldi in Pinhoe celebrates opening its doors

A brand new Aldi store in Pinhoe opened its doors to customers on Thursday morning (29 July).

The new Exhibition Way store is the third Aldi to open in and around Pinhoe, and will be run by Store Manager Mitchell Allen, along with a team of 25 colleagues from the local community.

A new online film has been launched for East Devon Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust’s Heath Week (this week), designed to help dog owners and walkers enjoy the great British countryside safely this summer.
