Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. The apprentices will combine on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications. Taylor Wimpey donates £100 to Pinhoe Guides

The 1st Pinhoe Guides have received a £100 donation from Taylor Wimpey Exeter to help celebrate two gold award achievements - the highest award that can be achieved in this section.

Two Rangers, who have earned their gold awards while working with the Pinhoe Guides, were honoured during the presentation evening which saw the Guides and Rangers come together to celebrate.

Taylor Wimpey’s donation also allowed organisers to welcome Animals 2U South West to the event, which provided live animal encounters and educational talks throughout the evening.

Buckfast Abbey welcomes brother as new apprentice

This autumn Buckfast Abbey has welcomed a new recruit to their team who follows in his brother’s footsteps. Trainee electrician, Ryan Ware, will join the Abbey’s Works Department as a new apprentice electrician and work alongside the Abbey’s current plumbing apprentice, Ryan’s twin brother, Lewis Ware.

Western Power Distribution, the UK’s largest electricity distributor, responsible for delivering power to homes through lines and cables in Devon, is launching a £500,000 fuel poverty fund to help families heat their homes this winter.

Building on the legacy of its successful ‘In This Together’ Covid response fund, WPD is calling on local charities, councils and community groups in the South West to apply for up to £10,000 to aid their fuel poverty support activities as we enter what will be a challenging winter for many.
