Planting of the first 4,000 trees through the Woodland Trust’s Emergency Tree Fund (ETF) project in Devon is being carried out by a partnership of local councils, community groups and schools.

Thanks to the £300,000 fund, Devon County Council has teamed up with Parklife South West who will be co-ordinating the work on the ground. ParkLife South West is a not-for-profit social enterprise set up in 2019 to provide opportunities for individuals and community groups to get involved with environmental projects in the places where they live.

Arts and Culture University of Exeter is inviting applications from creative practitioners for a Creative Fellowship that will run March-June 2022. This will be a 4-5 week exploratory placement, working in an interdisciplinary context. Debbie Coles is a nursing degree apprentice from Exeter studying at the University of Plymouth’s Exeter School of Nursing. Joining the NHS in 2003, she worked her way up through diplomas and, after 10 years as an assistant practitioner, applied for the registered nurse degree apprenticeship via Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. Dad of two Mark from Exeter was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2018 and died 18 months later at the age of 52. His family and close friends are raising money for FORCE Cancer Charity as a thank you for the support he received during his illness.
