Local man joins hospice charity walk for the fifth consecutive year to mark the anniversary of his mum’s death.

Chris Musgrave is supporting Hospiscare, the local hospice charity for Exeter, Central and East Devon, by taking part in Men’s Walk on Saturday 15 March at Double Locks, Exeter.

Exeter students burst bubble-making world record

Two University of Exeter physics students believe they have broken the world record for making the longest lasting bubble.

Third-year students Boden Duffy and Joe Nightingale managed to form a bubble and keep it in the air for 1 hour 24 mins, beating the world record by over an hour.

The record attempt was made on Monday in a soundproof room in the Physics laboratory at the University of Exeter.

A group of witnesses watched the hour-long attempt, and video footage will now be sent to the Guinness Book of World Records for official verification.

]The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by highlighting the valuable contribution apprentices play in helping deliver dedicated patient care across the region.

Big Brush Club expands to all primary schools in Devon

A supervised toothbrushing scheme, known as the Big Brush Club, has been running in some areas of Devon, Plymouth and Torbay since 2023. However, the scheme, which is provided for 3-5 year old children in key stage 1, is now being rolled out to all primary schools in Devon who have an early years nursery, pre-school or reception class provision.

It is funded by NHS Devon, in partnership with Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and Torbay Council, and delivered by dental provider At Home Dental.
