International students are creating lasting friendships with older members of the Devon community in a scheme that aims to boost digital literacy and reduce student loneliness.

The Tech-and-Life Pal project aims to get older people to give students the benefit of their "life wisdoms and experience", while the students help them out with essential digital skills such as how to use a smartphone or laptop.

Lots more Exeter Foodbank users will enjoy a traditional chocolate treat this year, thanks to The Fresh Accountancy Company.

Taylor Wimpey has helped Exeter Foodbank in its bid to lift families across the city out of poverty for good with a £500 donation.

The generosity of local residents each year allows the charity to offer food packages to hundreds of people. The foodbank has since launched a new appeal in an effort to make a longer-term difference to people’s lives.

Solar PV system for Devon charity to save thousands

The EX2 Group are delighted to have completed the installation of solar panels for local charity the Estuary League of Friends at their Topsham hub Nancy Potter House.

Predicted to save the charity more than £3,450 a year by generating 40% of their total energy needs, the design and installation was funded by VCSE Energy Efficiency Groundwork UK. The system includes 50 PV solar panels as well as battery storage to maximise the use of low-cost energy.

This month Cranbrook Education Campus, (CEC) joined forces with the charity Sustrans to host a Walk and Wheel Active Breakfast, an event designed to inspire families to choose walking, cycling, or scooting as part of their daily commute to school.
