Businesses in and around Exeter have rallied to help the Exminster-based charity Westbank Community Health and Care to deliver 50 hampers to support local families this Christmas. A huge donation of children’s toys were a last minute addition to the food hampers - a special donation from Cars and Cuppas, which runs monthly events in Exeter.

Westbank Community Health and Care has opened the doors of its warm, welcoming winter space for the communities of Exminster and Starcross, and is trialling a new shuttle service two days a week to help local people get there.

Westbank launches Christmas campaigns to support the community

The Devon health and wellbeing charity Westbank Community Health and Care has launched three Christmas campaigns to support those who are lonely or who may be struggling financially or emotionally this Christmas.

Westbank Community Health and Care commemorates the 80th anniversary of VE Day

A themed celebration has been held at Westbank Community Health and Care on the eve of Victory in Europe Day to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two in Europe. On 8 May 1945 huge crowds took to the streets to sing, dance and rejoice after nearly six years of war against Nazi Germany. At Westbank’s Healthy Living Centre in Exminster today a group of staff, volunteers and regular service users, some of whom were small children when the war ended, gathered to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and share their memories and thoughts about WWII.
