This is a comprehensive introduction to the skills, techniques, tools and purposes of stonemasonry with 2 experienced tutors, Trevor Clarke and Ben Martin. Honour for Cathedral stonemason

Chris Sampson, who is responsible for overseeing all the conservation and building work at Exeter Cathedral has been awarded the highest honour his profession boasts - that of the title ‘Master Mason’.

Just four or five craftsman a year are awarded this honour, which recognises their skills, knowledge and overall contributions to their craft.

Stonemason creates unique estuary animal fireplace

Exeter based stonemason Matt Hurley has recently completed an unusual commission for a local Devon customer.

To depict some of the many species they regularly see within a mile of their house near Dawlish, customers Ray & Ros Mason contacted Matt's company Hurley Marble to make them a custom fire surround.
