Police appeal after woman sexually assaulted on train in Exeter

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image following a report of a sexual assault on a train between Digby and Sowton and Exmouth railway station.

The incident happened between 5.45pm and 6.10pm on Friday 27 December.

A man is reported to have boarded a train at Digby and Sowton station before standing behind a woman and touching her inappropriately.

Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who may have information that could help their investigation.

Firefighters tackle thatch roof blaze

Dozens of firefighters have been tackling a blaze at two thatched cottages near Exeter.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting that their thatch roof was on fire in a property at Sowton, nerar Exeter.

Fire appliances from Middlemoor, Topsham, Danes Castle, Ottery St Mary, Cullompton and Exmouth were mobilised by fire control at 6.35pm yesterday (8 March).

Stagecoach launches new Park & Ride fleet

Stagecoach South West today launched a new fleet of buses for its busiest Exeter Park & Ride route.

Staff were ready and waiting to greet commuters with a fresh chocolate chip cookie on what is, for many, the first day back to work after the Christmas break.

Commuters could then relax and travel in style on the four brand new buses, an £800,000 investment in the service. All feature free Wi-Fi, allowing customers to connect, share and play on the move. Stagecoach South West today confirmed that it will be launching a new fleet of buses for its busiest Park & Ride route in Exeter.

Starting from 4th January 2016 the Red Honiton Road Park & Ride will have a fleet of four brand new double decker buses, worth £800,000, all of which will feature free Wi-Fi, allowing customers to connect, share and play on the move.
