Changes made to the way social housing is allocated in Teignbridge

On Tuesday 30 July, Teignbridge District Council’s Executive approved a series of amendments to its social housing allocation policy.

The changes, which come into effective on 1 April 2014, are aimed at creating a fairer system while giving people access to the most suitable housing advice and support that is right for them, especially in more rural areas. It will also provide the council with greater flexibilities so those who are on the housing waiting list stand a better chance of getting the home they want.

Business Network (SW) Limited – Business Lunch

Over 70 decision makers from the local business community attended the recent Business Networking (SW) lunch held at the Exeter Golf & Country Club. Guests were welcomed with a glass of wine and enjoyed a two-course sit-down lunch followed by a presentation by Nigel Wilkinson of WNW Design. In the afternoon a free afternoon seminar ‘A unique take on Business’ was hosted by Cathy Towers of Exeter Mind and Body Clinic.

Sprinting up and down a blindingly dazzling court, whilst sweat pours off you like a waterfall. Surely this can’t be branded as ‘fun?’

The reality is, that Basketball, despite its flaws, is one of the most enjoyable activities to partake in. The reasons why are endless, but I have narrowed them down to the most prominent.

Exeter Contemporary Open 2012 Winner Announced

At an exclusive awards ceremony and exhibition opening at Exeter Phoenix last night, Olivier Larivière was announced as the recipient of the main £1000 award for the Exeter Contemporary Open 2012. The judges – artist S Mark Gubb, independent curator Paula Orrell and Phoenix gallery curator Matt Burrows faced a tough decision to select three award winners from the nine exhibiting artists. Olivier's paintings however, a series of images depicting people handling wild animals, were seen to stand out as particularly strong.
