It’s all in the view. Luscombe Maye Estate Agency reveals that South West waterside properties are continuing to dominate the region’s property market, selling on average up to one month faster than those in urban or inland locations, according to its sales data from the past year.

Experts at Luscombe Maye state that both quantity and quality of a sea view play a vital part in the lure of South West waterside properties, potentially adding between £50,000 and £200,000 to a property’s value.

Thrive Hubs, an innovative network of co-working hubs, is due to officially open its door for business for the first time in Plymouth in three weeks, thanks to the completion of its first project in Ocean Crescent.

Sponsored cycle raises £2,500 for Hannahs

Staff from LHC’s Exeter and Plymouth design studios have raised over £2,500 for one of the UK’s oldest charities, Devon based Hannahs.

The team of architects and urban designers cycled 58 miles and climbed 3750 feet of hills on Sunday, raising money towards a new £11,000 all-terrain wheelchair for the charity.

The first day of the Buckfast Abbey Storytelling Festival was a great success with schools despite the torrential rain, which threatened to make it a wash-out.

The day started off well but just as the schools were about to do their first sessions with the host of well-known storytellers, who had come to the Abbey for this unique event, the skies just opened.

Many paths were flooded and the storytelling tent of Footprints Theatre Company from Nottingham let in so much water that they had to abandon it and retreat to an inside space.

LHC team to cycle for Hannahs

On Sunday July 5th, a twenty-strong team of architects and urban designers from LHC’s Exeter and Plymouth studios will cycle across Devon to raise funds for one of the UK’s oldest charities, Devon based Hannahs.

The team will cycle an impressive 58 miles and climb 3750 feet of rolling Devon hills, raising money towards a new £11,000 all-terrain wheelchair that will get more kids and young adults at Hannahs off-the-beaten track and having more adventures, whatever their abilities.

As exclusively revealed by the Exeter Daily yesterday, David Fitzgerald is to take over the presenting slot currently occupied by Judi Spiers.

Fitz and his Producer Monica Ellis will be moving to the Mid-Morning Show on BBC Radio Devon from Monday 6 July.

The BBC also announced this afternoon that Pippa Quelch will be the new voice of Drive Time.

Pippa, who was born and grew up in Devon, will present a mixture of news, travel and music each weekday from 5pm – 7pm in her new Drive Time Show.
