Explore the garden, see the work in progress, and learn about its unique story, its creators and our restoration plans.

The garden is a not-for-profit charitable interest company and all proceeds are reinvested in the restoration and replanting of the garden.

Teams can be nominated for ‘Lockdown Legends’

‘Lockdown Legends’ – the people of Devon who went that extra mile to help out during COVID-19 – are still being sought for a photographic exhibition in Exeter.

Nominations for the exhibition at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery close this Sunday (19 July), so don’t miss the chance to feature in this historic event.

Organisers have stressed that teams can be nominated. However because of the subject matter and social distancing, people are being asked to use just one person to represent the team in the nomination.

Meridian RAW CIC, the Exeter-based social enterprise, has announced an exhibition at the Exeter Picturehouse to celebrate the culmination of their community project in central Exeter.

This diverse exhibition is part of the Our Lives, Our Community, Our Voice project which was a two-year community project in Exeter and used photography as a means of engagement and empowerment. The project was managed by the Olive Tree Association/Devon Grapevine in partnership with Meridian Raw and has been generously funded by the People’s Health Trust.

Free photography course in Exeter

Meridian Raw, a local social enterprise, is offering 20 places on a free 14-week photography course for the local Exeter community.

The course, which will take place every Friday from 1st May until 31st July 2015 (10am-1pm) at Exeter Community Centre will help participants create a photo-stories and photographic theme on a topics that inspire them.

Working in a safe environment within small groups, participants will also learn and develop basic camera skills, take part in inspiring photo-dialogue exercises, go on a photography trip and multi-cultural tour, plan a project...

Grand Western Canal photo competition

Budding photographers are being encouraged to capture the beauty of the Grand Western Canal for a special competition this year.

There's a £450 worth of photography vouchers up for grabs plus the chance of the pictures appearing on the website and facebook pages.

There are three categories; Canal Landscapes, Canal Activities and Canal Wildlife. Entries are welcome from anyone but limited to amateur photographers only please and 10 pictures per person.

New photography studio opens in Exeter

After 17 years, and two national awards as wedding photographers John and Jill English have opened a photography studio in Bowhill House, Exeter.

It's quite unlike any other studio you've ever seen before and in place of a soulless white space it is brimming with atmosphere - well it is a house with hundreds of years of history including a fabulous great hall, wooden panelling, cloisters, and walls that are proudly Devon Cob.

Community photography exhibition goes on show

A new community photography exhibition was launched last weekend at a celebratory event held at the Glorious Art House on Fore Street, Exeter.

The launch marked the start of the ‘Our Lives, Our Community, Our Voice’ project’s first photography exhibition.

The project, which has now run three courses in Exeter, provides participants with access to photographic equipment in facilitated workshops. It is managed by the Olive Tree Association/Devon Grapevine in partnership with Exeter-based social enterprise Meridian RAW and is funded by The People Health Trust.

Springtime in Exeter - in between the (snow) showers!

By no means of the imagination can we say that we have had a good spring - here we are in May and there are still heavy rainstorms across the South West and although there are no reports of snow in Exeter, there have been snow showers on Dartmoor! - however nature is doing its utmost to shine despite the inclement weather.

Here are a few signs of nature doing what it does best in and around the city. Keep your eyes open for signs of botanical bravery against all the odds.
