Overbeck’s is celebrating its 75th Anniversary

On the weekend of 29 and 30 June, Overbeck’s will be celebrating its 75th birthday.

Thanks to its last resident, eccentric inventor Otto Overbeck, the house and garden was bequeathed to National Trust in 1938 and the same year the gates were opened to the public for the first time for just sixpence (6d). The Trust have been telling the story of Overbeck’s to visitors ever since.

Come and join us on this special weekend and help us celebrate. Overbeck’s staff will be offering a special high tea, with the addition of birthday cake, served on the lawn all day.

Rediscover Killerton's garden- trees

Exhibition at A la Ronde showcases the best of local artists

A la Ronde, the sixteen-sided National Trust house near Exmouth, showcases the best of local artists in its gallery with a new exhibition every fortnight.

From 2 – 13 March, it’s the turn of staff and volunteers to put their creative talents to the fore as they mount their first ever exhibition.

This is particularly relevant to A la Ronde, as founder cousins Jane and Mary Parminter were enthusiastic crafts people and many examples of their work can be seen inside the house.

The exhibition contains items crafted in a variety of mediums submitted by about twenty staff...
