A Haunted History of Cricklepit Mill

With almost 800 years of history, Cricklepit Mill certainly has a few spooky stories to tell.

Enjoy a Halloween-themed tour of the mill as your guide reveals the history of the mill throughout the ages, along with some ghostly goings-on and local superstitions, plus other spooktacular tales from the surrounding area.

Don’t be scared - come along - you're in for a treat!

Acoustic blues with Eddie Martin at Otterton Mill

We round off 2012 with "the most remarkable bluesman of his generation" (Blues in Britain). This charismatic multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and one man band is one of our most entertaining acts.

Eddie has the rare knack of writing blues songs that speak of now while paying dues to yesterday. His performance energy is infectious, as his national steel guitar, rack mounted harmonic and suitcase (acting as bass drum) pound out driving rhythms to complement his soulful vocals.

Free half term fun: The Big Draw at Riverside Mill

Join us for a family all day drop-in and draw event as part of the national Campaign for Drawing. Activities relate to our current exhibition of photography and are based on ideas of navigating, mapping and exploring as we create 2D and 3D land and waterscapes. Free drop-in.

Christmas Celebration Day at Riverside Mill

What is a river? This superficially simplistic question led Jem Southam, one of the UK’s most respected photographers, down a three-year investigation of the River Exe.

Jem has produced exciting new work observing and documenting the body of water running from Exmoor in the north through Exeter to the Exe Estuary. Part of Jem's photographic practice involves revisiting sites over long periods of time to capture changes of seasons, atmospheric conditions and effects of time.
