Newton Abbot set for second evening fixture

It’s the second evening meeting of the summer at Newton Abbot on Thursday 30th April with the first race, the Newtonabbotrace On Twitter Maiden Hurdle, due off at 16.45.

With 132 horses having been entered across the seven races, including fifteen in the feature £10,000 Handicap Chase over three and a quarter miles, a good turnout is expected.

The race is for horses rated up to 135 and course winner Prince Tom, trained near Taunton by Alexandra Dunn, and Bertie Boru, twice successful last season for Philip Hobbs, are both on the maximum handicap mark...

Enjoy the longer days and lighter evenings at the first evening fixture of the season at Newton Abbot Racecourse.

Racing starts at 17:05 and gates open at 15:05. The last race will be at 20:05.

Once again, children aged 16 and under and students with a valid student ID / NUS card can enjoy free entry.

The racecourse also offers entry to all disabled racegoers and one carer for just £12 each with a free transfer to the Paddock Enclosure.

In a bid to continue its commitment of making a day at the races affordable for all, Newton Abbot Racecourse will welcome back its popular 2-4-1 ticket promotion with a difference this season.

In past years, the racecourse has offered a 2-4-1 promotion on all Monday fixtures. However, with a change in this year’s racing programme, with a fall to just three Monday fixtures and an increase to six evening meetings, the racecourse will instead introduce a 2-4-1 ticket promotion for all evening fixtures.

This season, Newton Abbot Racecourse will be giving horseracing enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the thrill of owning a racehorse with the launch of the first ever Newton Abbot Races Racing Syndicate.
