The Dissenters Graveyard will be open to visitors between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 8th July.

Visitors can view the near-completely restored Graveyard, now dignified with gates and railings; inspect transcribed copies of many of the grave inscriptions and will be able to read short biographies of some of those buried there.

Excavations reveal Bronze Age mystery

Excavations being carried out at Tithebarn Green, Redhayes, near Exeter are revealing a complex ancient landscape with occupation dating from the Neolithic through to the Medieval period.

The Bronze Age Pin Brook enclosure, located at the northern end of the Tithebarn Green site has been particularly interesting.

The Dissenters Graveyard will be open to visitors between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.

Visitors can:

  • see work in progress to reverse the ravages of time and vandalism and what more needs to be done
  • view a collapsed underground vault and the entrance to an intact underground vault
  • inspect transcribed copies of many of the grave inscriptions
  • read short biographies of some of those buried there
