Exam results drop-in sessions at Youth Hub Devon

Youth Hub Devon is offering drop-in support sessions to everyone who received their A-Level, T-Level and AS-Level results yesterday and those awaiting their GCSE results next week.

Whether your results are better than you thought or different from what you were expecting you may be looking for advice or support about what to do next.

The exam results drop-in sessions provide a safe space to have an initial chat and book in for further support.

The sessions are being held at the Youth Hub in Exeter Library from 9:30am-4pm on:

The number of GCSE adult learners across the county gaining GCSE qualifications has increased this year, despite another year of disruption caused by the pandemic.

110 learners attained their GCSE qualifications with Learn Devon this year, up by 15% from the previous academic year.

Adult learners are among those celebrating well-earned GCSE results, having completed their maths and English qualifications with Learn Devon, Devon County Council's adult learning service. Since March, Learn Devon has changed the way it delivers adult learning courses to ensure that learners continue with their learning safely. Their results mark the end of the intensive ten month GCSE courses. Sparx, the Exeter-based socially focused learning technology company has been named ‘Supplier of the Year’ at this year’s Education Resources Awards (ERA’s) for its innovative approach to maths learning and its focus on evidence-based technologies.

Exeter School, the city's largest independent school, is celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results.

Almost three-quarters of all grades - 74.5% - were A* or A/9-7, compared to the national average of 20.5%.

Students, parents and staff at Colyton Grammar School are celebrating outstanding GCSE results, which have seen the school outperform the national average by some considerable margin.

In all, 87% of students who sat GCSEs this year achieved the top three grades of 9 to 7. 99% achieved grades 9 to 5, and 40% achieved a grade 9, ten times the national average of 4%.

Some 21 students achieved the coveted eight or more subjects with grade 9, around 18% of this year’s GCSEs cohort. This compares to the national predicted result for this achievement of 0.2%.

Blundell's School is delighted to announce another set of excellent GCSE results, which once again exceed the national average despite the recent climate of changing educational pressures.
