Innovative free gardening app launched at Toby’s Garden Festival

A unique way to discover the gardening community around you has been launched by Candide, an innovative gardening community app, at Toby’s Garden Festival. Places is the brand new and unique functionality which allows you to locate your nearest gardening centre or public garden wherever you are in the South West. This regional launch comes ahead of a national roll out at BBC Gardeners’ World Live in June.

Tales and imagery of life with dementia captured on Exeter allotment

People whose lives have been affected by dementia have worked with well-known professional artists to create insightful images and poems that capture some of their experiences, to form a new book.

The project involved people with dementia and their partners who are part of Age UK Exeter’s Budding Friends project and who spend time together on the charity’s allotment or at a local art studio. Wildlife gardening at Cranbrook this weekend

Cranbrook Country Park is hosting a wildlife gardening session this Saturday morning, February 25.

The session will take place between 10am and 12pm; families are invited to take part in building homes for the wildlife in the area.

Children will have the opportunity to create bird feeders for their own gardens and build a safe environment for bees using a baked bean tin and bamboo.

There will also be the chance to help build a bug hotel which is made from leftover materials.

Cranbrook Country Park has already carried out three sessions so far this year....
