The Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink opened its doors at 10am this morning. With over 100 producers exhibiting over the next three days there is plenty for visitors to sample and enjoy!

The festival is running today, tomorrow and Bank Holiday Monday at Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle.

Tonight’s After Dark Music Festival in Exeter Castle’s Courtyard starts at 6pm. Headliners Leigh Coleman Band will be joined by Celine Dos Santos, Yazzy and Joanna Cooke. Tickets are available on the gate.

Lapstock 2017

Music at the Mill features 30 bands/performers on 3 stages over 2 days at Lapford Mill in Mid Devon. Friday night showcases young local talent and is free of charge. Headline acts on the main stage (Saturday) include Tankus the Henge and Lionstar both having played Glastonbury. Plenty of stalls and activities including ukulele and didgeridoo sessions, children's drum workshop, storytelling, yoga and jewellery making. Local real ale, cider and food stalls. Toby Buckland’s garden tribute

Gardener, writer and broadcaster Toby Buckland has replanted the flower beds leading up to the Garden entrance to Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery as a tribute to its collections.

Devon is a county of plant hunters with famous historical nurseries like Veitch and Pinces. This rich history has long been reflected in the displays and exhibits at RAMM. It is now also mirrored in the at RAMM’s Garden entrance.

Western Division Quarter-Finals of the One Act Play Festival

This is the Quarter-Finals of the Western Division of One Act Plays as part of The All England Theatre Festival 2017. This year these Quarter-Finals are being arranged by Teignmouth Drama Festival. Sadly, Teignmouth is at present without a Theatre. Please spare a thought for them and also for the local amateur musical and drama groups in Barnstaple who are in this case without two Theatres. Teignmouth Drama Festival has hired our venue at The Blackmore Theatre for this event. Performance times are 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd April 2017. With a fabulous line‐up of artists to bring you the very best of the 80s, and an action packed day of general 80s madness, there is plenty to do for everyone at this family friendly festival. Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink has announced new exhibitors for the 2017 festival as part of its Fresh at the Festival initiative. The scheme supports local independent start-ups and this year eight exciting new Fresh at the Festival exhibitors will feature alongside many festival favourites.

New Lemonfest acts announced

Joining the Lemonfest bill is Blues influenced Singer/Songwriter Liam Bailey, who co-wrote and performed on Chase & Status’ single Blind Faith in 2011, as well as having collaborated in the past with other huge names such as DJ Fresh, SHY FX and Delilah. Not to mention his own catalogue of success across the last 10 years.

Other new additions to the festivals’ strongest year to date will be Drum & Bass legends Shadow Demon Coaliton – headlining this year’s Rinse-it tent on Saturday – alongside Turno.

The 38th Exmouth Amateur Festival of One Act Plays

This is an opportunity for those drama groups who have entered this year’s Festival to perform their One Act Plays in front of a professional adjudicator.

This Festival is part of The All England Theatre Festival 2017. It opens on Monday 3rd and runs through to Saturday 8th April 2017. Monday to Friday evening performances commence at 7.30pm. Saturday evenings performances commence at 7pm.
