This June 5th, join people all over Devon, put the kettle on and join in the ELF CREAM TEA! Come along and find our more about ELF. Money raised through the ELF cream tea may go to our new ELF @ Home service engaging with volunteers to support patients in their homes. This will enable patients who are isolated by their condition to quite literally have a cup of tea with someone.

Play area revamped with help from the Exeter Foundation

A play area on the outskirts of Exeter has been refurbished with help from the Exeter Foundation.

£5,000 was donated towards upgrading the children’s play area in Exton, with new equipment including a multi-play unit and swings. The existing play area was becoming unsafe and the people of Exton were keen to improve the park for the increasing number of children living in the village. Road to be closed at Exton for repairs

Essential reconstruction and resurfacing will be carried out on the A376 at Exton this month.

Drainage work and footway resurfacing will initially be undertaken overnight on Monday 8 September and Tuesday 9 September, from 6.30pm to 7am, using four-way traffic signals.

The main resurfacing work will be undertaken near the junction of the A376 with Station Road and Mill Lane, between Monday 22 September and Friday 3 October. From bins to bikes for charity

Hundreds of employees from a waste management firm which collects waste in Devon have geared up to take part in a 2,400 mile, UK cross-country cycle tour to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Big Ride cycle relay, organised by national recycling and waste management company SITA UK, staged a Grand Depárt from one of the company’s northern-most sites near Aberdeen on May 12 and will now finish at its most southerly facility in St Erth, Cornwall, on June 20 – six weeks later.
